Drones are restricted in and around TasPorts security regulated ports and surrounding land, to ensure compliance with Commonwealth security and critical infrastructure legislation.

All drone flights on TasPorts land and inside any port must be undertaken by a licensed commercial drone pilot.

All requests must be approved by TasPorts Security and Corporate Affairs teams.

Requests for drone use on TasPorts land should be submitted 48 hours prior to the filming date through the form below or via email to media@tasports.com.au

Requests should include:

  • Time and date
  • Pilot name and contact details
  • Flight plan, including launch and land sites
  • Pilot’s CASA certificate
  • Certificate of currency for Public Liability Insurance
