On Friday, TasPorts was pleased to host the Department of State Growth’s Tasmanian Development Board at the Port of Bell Bay, as part of a broader visit to the Bell Bay precinct.

The Tasmanian Development Board’s primary focus is the support of balanced economic development and the effective implementation of the Tasmanian Government’s policies.

There continues to be significant interest in development opportunities at the Port of Bell Bay and its surrounding land by emerging energy-generating and transitional projects, as well as increasing demands from established industries.

As part of a tour of several businesses and sites throughout the Bell Bay Advanced Manufacturing Zone (BBAMZ), the Tasmanian Development Board was welcomed to TasPorts’ offices by our Planning and Development team. The visit provided an opportunity for the Tasmanian Development Board to understand the opportunities at the Port of Bell Bay and how the Port will be a catalyst for investment within the broader region.

The development of the Port of Bell Bay to support growth remains a priority for TasPorts and the organisation remains committed to working with industry and Government to facilitate and realise opportunities for the benefit of Tasmania.
