Careers

With more than 300 employees across the State working in a variety of ports and shipping related operations, TasPorts is a dynamic and progressive organisation.

Our approach is highly collaborative. As a team, we work to deliver upon our vision to proudly connect people, products and solutions for the benefit of all Tasmanians.

Like all port operators, the breadth and depth of capability across our business is diverse. We certainly need people who are technically capable in their areas of functional expertise, but just as importantly, we encourage attributes that are more values-oriented.

Working with us

Our people work in a wide range of job types, from traditional land-based ports roles such as wharf operations and trades, to marine roles that directly support our shipping customers, such as coxwains and tug operators. We also offer challenging professional careers which enable the success of our operations and the broader business.

Great conditions and benefits

Whatever your career or passion, we offer great conditions and benefits, in a supportive and professional environment that will take your career to the next level.

Equal opportunity

TasPorts is committed to achieving equal opportunity in the workplace and providing a workplace environment free from harassment and discrimination.

Our Values

In addition to the role values play within the organisation’s planning framework, refreshing our workplace values was highlighted as a critical initiative to enrich our culture under the People and Culture Strategy, endorsed in May 2018. Importantly, in late 2019, a number of engagement activities were undertaken, with a primary objective to understand the values everyone at TasPorts believed we should embrace.

When that information was analysed, five consistent themes emerged and these have formed the basis of the new values that have now been endorsed.

PROUD

Proud to play our part, we follow through with courage and conviction.

CARE

To show care, we actively engage and listen.

TOGETHER

We don’t go it alone, because we’re better together.

SHARE

Information empowers, so we share it generously.

TRUST

We trust our people and processes, to deliver with integrity.
